Traveling to Washington DC this June was so engaging. I attended the American Library Conference, #alaac2019, and met many authors, picked up way too many books and filled my culture cup at the Smithsonian museums.
Leaving my home environment and choosing to go adventuring across the country helps me reset my awareness of our world and the events shaping it and by default, me. Coming home to share my discoveries with family, friends, and students helps me to put it all in perspective. It is far too easy to get into a rut and forget to seek new perspectives. Together, we can help each other stay fresh, safe, and thoughtful.
Enjoy some of my discoveries in the slideshow and please share where you find renewal in the comments.
How do you fill your cup? What vacation places do you recommend to everyone?
