STUBC Week 1: Avatars & Visiting

The first week of the Student Blogging Challenge was interesting. One of the tasks was to design and upload a personal avatar. The number of apps that allow you to create avatars ranges from simple cartoons, to elaborate portraits. I used an app from this Symbaloo to create a couple of avatars.
Take a look and tell me what you think. Try one of the apps out and create one of your own, then share
the avatar.

This avatar is more realistic, but sadly, I couldn’t add the purple hair (not all of my hair), so you must imagine that there is purple hair on the inner layer.

The next avatar is much less realistic, but shows one of my favorite things to do: read! What do you think?

  1. Hi Mrs. Doran!
Have you ever heard of bitmoji? Even though you can use it on Snapchat you don’t need a Snapchat to use it. I think that was realluy nice for the creators to do for people who want a bitmoji but don’t want Snapchat. Maybe you could try it out sometime and create your own.
    Your Student,

  2. What fun! We really enjoyed your introduction, and now we can’t wait to read more of your blog posts. We love to read too, and we do a Forty Book Challenge in our class to try to read at least 40 books during the year. Most of us are past 30 at least, and we have the greatest discussions about our latest and greatest books. What book recommendation do you have for us?

    • Dear Cherie,
Thank you for your comment and for the information about your 40 book challenge. That is an amazing number to strive for over the course of the year. Congratulations on being past 30 books for the year. We also love to find new reads to treasure. Right now we are reading Echo’ s Sister by Paul Mosier a lovely novel set in New York City. I’ll ask my students for some suggestions and send others.
Does your class have treasured books they would recommend to us?
      Mrs. D
